With a view to encouraging citizenship practices in basic education Portuguese language classes, this paper takes as its object the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, which becomes a support for the exploration of grammatical resources for the construction of meanings, with the development of analysis. In this article, we reflect on how to use Portuguese language classes as a space for citizen education, by removing the obstacles that prevent the understanding of legal texts, such as the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, through a contextualized grammar perspective.
