Abstract

Products and methods are being developed to optimize healing and tissue repair of skin wounds, preventing infection. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the healing effect of homeopathic medicines in different presentations. Cutaneous surgical wounds of 15 mm in diameter in the dorsocervical region were induced in 75 Wistar rats. Divided into 5 groups (n = 15) treated with neutral detergent (TC); ointment 1 (P1) and spray 1 (S1) homeopathic based on Bellis perenis + Calendula officinalis + Myristica sebifera; daily ointment 2 (P2) and spray 2 (S2) based on Calendula officinalis + Equinacea angustifolia + Castor equi, daily. On the 3rd, 7th and 14th day after surgery, 5 animals / group were euthanized, the skin fragment around the wound was collected and processed histologically. Homeopathic medicines were effective in healing, with the exception of spray 2. Wounds without signs of infection; regular borders with increased fibroblast proliferation in groups P1 and S1; good evolution in terms of the number of neovessels, mononuclear cells and entanglement of collagen fibers with complete healing of the P1 group on the 11th and S1 on the 12th and P2 on the 13th day of the experiment. Divergences between P1 versus S1 and P2 versus S2, were due to the presentation, the ointments fixed better on the wounds; between P1 and S1 versus P2 and S2, the drug base was related. The association Bellis perenis + Calendula officinalis + Myristica sebifera in the ointment presentation showed better healing potential.
