Use of artificial intelligence

This policy establishes guidelines for the ethical and transparent use of artificial intelligence (AI) in our publications, ensuring the integrity, authenticity, and excellence of research.

Authorship
AI or similar tools do not qualify as authors and, therefore, cannot be included as co-authors.

Responsibility
The use of AI must be strictly supervised by the authors, who remain fully responsible for any errors, plagiarism, or other inappropriate practices resulting from the use of these tools. Responsibility for the content of the article lies solely with the individuals who sign it.

Authenticity and Originality
Authors who use AI to generate or analyze content must ensure that the work is original and contributes significantly to the field of study.

AI Use Statement
Any manuscript that uses AI—whether in generation, analysis, review, or any other stage—must clearly indicate this information in the Materials and Methods section, specifying the extent of AI involvement.

Transparency
Authors must detail the use of AI in the writing process, including:

Name of the tool
Version and model
Source
Parameters used
Role played by AI in the development of the text

Limitations
When AI is used as a research tool, authors must discuss its limitations and possible biases in the text.
