Abstract

This article proposes a theatrical historiography based on an analysis of the trajectories of Teresa and Jacques Thiériot up to the development of their French translations of Nelson Rodrigues’s plays. The study examines the relationship between these translators and the theatrical field, as well as the conditions that enabled the transposition and public circulation of these texts, which were Initially linked to Individual Initiatives. Within this process of dissemination, two published and staged translations are highlighted: Ange Noir, presented on the Parisian professional stage, and Robe de mariée, developed within a university context In the southern region of the country, demonstrating the vitality and resonance that the act of translation helped generate within the theatrical landscape.
