Presentation of the Journal - V. 27, n 1
Abstract
For the Political Economy of Communication, television, the subject of this issue's dossier, has historically been a privileged object. From the issues surrounding the privatisation of European broadcasting systems, to the influence of North American audiovisual production and the shaping of television to meet the demands of late capitalism in Latin America, EPC stands out for its critical analysis of TV, highlighting its relationship with the development of capitalism itself and with local political and economic interests. In addition to the dossier, the issue features two texts that help us visualise alternative paths in media production.
