Abstract
This year, 2024, the EPTIC Journal celebrates the 25th anniversary of its first publication in 1999. Throughout it, we have brought out dossiers that highlight the diversity of problems that have been faced since the Political Economy of Communication. First, the dossier “Popular communication and social struggles”. Then, “Artificial intelligence through the lens of Marxism and critical thinking”. Now we present “Economic development in times of digital transformation”. The figures show both continuities and changes in the ways in which capitalism is organized, a system that seeks changes in order to continue imposing its domination, despite its intense contradictions. Overall, we can see that these have been somewhat displaced, but they are far from being resolved.
