Abstract

This article investigates technological fetishism in platform capitalism. Inspired by Marxian commodity fetishism, it argues that the system of capital hides social relations under a "technological veil" in a constant attempt to conceal human labor as a vital and crucial source of capital appreciation and support for the entire contemporary economy, without which it collapses. It concludes by affirming the need for a critical conception of technology, algorithms and artificial intelligence, unveiling technoliberal ideologies and propaganda as a form of resistance and expansion of the protection of human labor, the main object of Labor Law.
