Abstract

A reading of the most recent book by Habermas (2023) is presented. It is understood that, when discussing “digital content platforms” as a “new structural change in the public sphere”, Habermas shows the culmination of his trajectory. Divided into three parts, Habermas's reconstructive turn is presented as a demonstration of the limits of the approach to the “structural change of the public sphere” (1), aspects of the most recent book are evaluated, showing the perspective of the semi-public sphere as resulting from the platformization of media systems (2) and it is demonstrated how the dialectical critique of PEC presents a more comprehensive assessment of “digital content platforms” (3).
