reflections on the installation of megaprojects and the implementation of public policies on Human Rights

Abstract

This essay will address the theme of neo-extractive mega-ventures, more specifically the project of the Northeast Nuclear Power Plant, whose installation was proposed in the municipality of Itacuruba/PE, Sertão de Itaparica. The work seeks to understand how the implementation of megaprojects, combined with the search for economic development, violates human and fundamental rights of Traditional Peoples and Communities (PCTs), since such projects are usually built in or near traditional territories.
