New State, Education and War in the pages of journal Educação (1939-1943)

Abstract

This article analyzes the editions of journal Educação, journal of Associação Brasileira de Educação (ABE), published between 1939 and 1943. Launched in 1939, it aimed to publicize the association’s activities and expand Educational debates in the country. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the Second War and the nationalization of immigrants, undertaken by the New State, reverberate in the pages of journal. In addition to the relationship between the ABE and the regime, it was possible to note the emphasis on the topics indicated, especially after Brazil’s entry into the conflict.
