A importância da qualidade da água para seu uso na irrigação

Abstract

Water is the most abundant element present on Earth. However fresh water is present in low quantities due to its excessive use and for this resource it undergoes progressive degradation, due to anthropic, industrial pollution, by emission of sewage, among other means. It represents a resource of fundamental importance for the life of living beings, for domestic supply, economic activities, electricity generation, among other applications, highlighting its use in irrigation due to its economic importance, as well as to supply the water needs of crops , especially in regions of dry climate and with low amount of rain, as is the case of the Northeastern semi-arid region. In this scenario, this work aims to show the importance of water quality control for its use in irrigation and expose the potential risks of salinity, sodicity and toxicity to crops, which can be avoided by using a more appropriate irrigation system and by controlling quality, in order to reduce these risks and provide different cultures with quality water, whose quality control parameters must be compared with CONAMA Resolution No. 396 and the Ministry of Health Ordinance of 2011.
