Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Publication rules

 

Article: They are the result of bibliographic or archival research. They will necessarily meet the usual norms and forms of reference in the academic environment, whose argumentation and defense of hypotheses, problems or objects will be carefully realized. Abstract submission must be in English or Spanish.

 

Reviews: They are concise works, of text review, films, books, websites or other sources / works, with norms and forms of reference customary in the academic environment, with objective identification of the registered objects. Only reviews of works from the last 3 (three) years will be accepted. Materials with a maximum of 9,000 (nine thousand) touches / characters with space are required.

 

Research Notes: Texts that briefly present an ongoing research proposal. Informs about the research intentions, the selected sources and basic bibliography. They are texts of studies still in the initial stage of completion.

 

Attention: The texts must be adapted to the norms of the Boletim do Tempo Presente according to the following requirements:  In addition to complying with the reference standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT), the work must be appropriate to the Boletim do Tempo Present format, according to the following requirements:

 

Articles:

1 - The texts must have an abstract (maximum 550 characters with space for both) and an abstract in Portuguese / Spanish, as well as the indication of 3 (three) keywords in Portuguese and English or Spanish.

2 – Formating:

Minimum of 20,000 characters (without space) and maximum of 40,000 characters (without space).

* Times New Roman, size 12, single space

* Font size for highlighted citations: 10.

* Title and subtitle in bold, lower case.

* Below the title, must come only the name of the author aligned to the right

* References: endnotes. Complete references must appear at the end of the text.

* Do not use footnotes. Information must be placed in endnotes (at the end of the text), just before the bibliography.

 

Reviews:

* Minimum of 4.000 characters (without space) and maximum of 9.000 characters (without space). Times New Roman, size 12, single space.

* References: endnotes. Complete references must appear at the end of the text.

* Books and movies released in the last three Years.

 

Research Notes:

* Minimum of 3.000 characters (without space) and maximum of 5.000 characters (without space). Times New Roman, size 12, single space. Free quote and reference.

 

The first note (s) must contain the information of the author (s), with up to 360 characters with space. If the text comes from research funding, or adapted from a lecture, the author must explain this in the same note that will contain his personal data.

TEXTS THAT BREACH THESE STANDARDS WILL BE REFUSED. Papers must be sent by e-mail address:  boletim@getempo.org and will be subject to technical-scientific opinion. According to the agenda of the Boletim do Tempo Presente, the response to the application will be sent within 180 (one hundred and eighty) days.
