Abstract

The article analyzes the relationship between freedom, the pursuit of truth, and human dignity in
the work of Edith Stein, with a focus on her phenomenological and philosophical approach, experience that enables the human being to self-determine and act authentically, being
indispensable for the affirmation of personal dignity. Stein does not understand freedom merely
as the ability to choose, but as an expression of the depth of the soul and spiritual life, linking it
directly to truth, which guides responsible and meaningful actions. The pursuit of truth, in turn,
is presented as a journey that transcends immediate knowledge and appearances, requiring inner
openness, deep reflection, and adherence to universal values that give meaning to existence.
This pursuit grounds and directs freedom, ensuring that human choices align with what is just
and true. Furthermore, Stein emphasizes the unity between body and soul, highlighting that
human dignity is manifested in the genuine expression of interiority. Through a
phenomenological analysis, the article explores how the author weaves these concepts together,
demonstrating their relevance to contemporary philosophy and theology, as well as to the
construction of a more just and humane society. It concludes that freedom, truth, and dignity
form an essential triad for understanding existence and personal responsibility, constituting
inseparable pillars for the full realization of the human being and the promotion of an authentic
and meaningful life.
