ETHICAL GUIDELINES AND ANTI-PLAGIUM POLICY

ConCI is a journal that is concerned with ethical conduct and good practices at all stages of the editorial process, and fulfills essential requirements that guarantee the execution of these good practices, in line with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) code of conduct. which must be observed by all members of the staff and editorial committee, as well as the authors.

Authors who send articles or other documents to ConCI exclude from the original and file any identification of authorship and declare that its content is original and guarantee that the work has not been published, nor that it is in the process of review/evaluation in any other journal , as well as are not identical to works published in annals of scientific events. If this criterion is not met, the work will be rejected by the editor.

By adopting a posture of care and guidance to authors in relation to plagiarism and self-plagiarism, ConCI makes available as a parameter the UFS Booklet in Peleja against Plagiarism and requests that authors read the document before submitting the originals.

ConCI uses the Turnitin system to check for plagiarism. This checking procedure is performed by the editor, who may consider a maximum limit of up to 30% of similarity so that the submission can be sent for evaluation.

Finally, when submitting manuscripts for publication, the author(s) ensure that the privacy, dignity and integrity of people involved in the research are being respected, as well as that the ethical precepts for research with animals are being followed. In appropriate cases, the article must contain the favorable opinion of the Research Ethics Committee of the institution to which the author(s) is a member.

PEER EVALUATION PROCESS

As part of the submission process, authors are responsible for verifying compliance with the rules for all items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the rules will not be accepted and will be returned to the authors.

Works are not accepted:

-that have not been submitted by authors, after registration, or with a password, in the OJS3 system.
-that are under evaluation by another journal or that are identical to works published in full in the annals of scientific events.

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited, and authors must, in these cases, duly quote the consulted sources.

Authors must remove any identification of authorship from the original and file in order to ensure a blind peer review (Double Blind Peer Review). If this criterion is not met, the work will be rejected by the editor.

After submission by OJS3+, the original is initially evaluated by the editor, who must consider the relevance of the work submitted to the focus/scope of the journal. Then, considering it pertinent, the editor forwards the work to the designation of evaluators who make up the body of reviewers of the journal, in number of two, adopting the system of blind peer review (Double Blind Peer Review), as informed previously. If necessary, the work will be analyzed by a third evaluator or may be submitted to ad hoc evaluators.

Taking as a parameter the opinions sent, it is up to the editor to give the final opinion to the author regarding the submitted work.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST DECLARATION

ConCI asks authors to declare whether there is any type of conflict of interest during the development of the work that gave rise to the document submitted to the journal. Likewise, reviewers must declare, upon receiving the invitation to review, if there is any type of conflict of interest.

INCLUSION/EXCLUSION POLICY OF AUTHORS AND ENDOGENICS

ConCI adopts as a policy the possibility of inclusion/exclusion of authors after submission of the manuscript, as long as they are duly justified to the editor. Furthermore, as a scientific journal, it does not encourage the practice of endogeny in its publications.

It is noteworthy that the contribution of each of the authors must be described on the cover sheet of the article, as instructed in Template 2021.

EVALUATION FORM

During the submission review process, reviewers must declare any type of conflict of interest before accepting the review nomination. After acceptance, it is up to the evaluator to read the manuscript and subsequently fill out the evaluation form, edited in 2021, consisting of objective questions and comments, where the analyzes of each element that make up the article can be inserted, supporting their decision.

The questions that make up the evaluation form are directly related to the following aspects that must be analyzed by the evaluators:

-Adequacy of the work to the proposed theme;
-Explanation of the objective of the work and coherence of its development in the text;
-Compliance with the proposed theory, demonstrating updated knowledge of the relevant bibliography;
-Originality of reflection and contribution to the field of knowledge;
-Clarity, correctness and adequacy of language to a scientific work;
-Adaptation of the text to the journal's standards.

After the analysis, the reviewer will be able to choose between the following options to issue their final opinion:

-Accept the publication of the article, without changes
-Accept the publication of the article, with requested revisions
-Submit the article to the new round, with a view to re-evaluating the revisions carried out
-Reject article publication

After issuing the opinions, the editor responsible for the submission decides on the continuity or not of the editorial process. In reply to the authors, the comments issued by the evaluators will be sent as an attachment to the email.
