Abstract

Denialism and the exacerbated proliferation of fake news are serious problems in the present time and have generated a worrying epistemological crisis and a crisis in the relationship with truth in contemporary times. It is known that the dissemination of denialism is not something inherent to the present day, but that it has found the ideal scenario for its mass propagation on the Internet and digital media. Therefore, the main objective of this article is to discuss issues related to the advent of digital platforms, focusing on YouTube and the germination of historical denialism on these channels, as well as its consequent influence on public debate in Brazil.
